The remote county of Cumbria in England has been witness to a major turn of event. The county which has 99 percent of internet users up to date received only a maximum of 2mb of download speed. Add to this the constant number of people using their internet simultaneously which meant giving an individual a speed of less than 50kbps. All this has however changed for the better with the farmers of Cumbria County themselves making efforts to dig up trenches setting up the next generation fibre broadband. This has seen the lightening broadband speed of 100 mb reach to a 1000 household in the area of Alston.

This will see a rise of broadband in these lesser known communities of England and bring them technologically on par with the major towns of the country. The new fiber broadband none the less does come a bit expensive and not all of the population in the county is going to benefit from the connections without paying some hefty sum of thousands of sterling pounds. But considering it a long term investment the great speed is only going to connect these relatively remote areas with the rest of the world. This is definitely bound to be lucrative in the long run and profitable. The village of Lyddington in Rutland saw a group of eleven people paying 33 thousand sterling pounds to get the fibre broadband connections to their village having about 200 homes. With each of the eleven shelving £3,000 a piece.
