Installation

There are a few pieces of technology that you will need to receive the service. The BT Home Hub will arrive to your home, and the BT engineer will bring your new modem, and then quickly and carefully install them both for you.

Switch to BT Infinity
Deciding to switch from your existing Internet Service Provider to BT Infinity is a great idea, and you can do it very easily!

All that you must do is log onto the BT website to choose the broadband package that best suits your household needs. When you order online BT will take control and manage the switchover process for you.
They will contact your current ISP and inform them of your decision to move to the BT service; the overall change should take approximately 11 days to complete and you will always retain a connection to the Internet in the meantime.

To change over, you will need to ask your existing provider for your unique MAC key code. This is a special 17-19 digit code that identifies your computer in order to process the switchover from one provider to another.
Your existing provider is obliged to deliver this to you within 5 days by law. It is this code that ensures you do not lose your Internet connection during the changes.

If you are using a current BT phone line then you will definitely need a MAC code to perform the switch.

If you do not have a BT phone line then you can place your order online, and BT will contact you if they find that it will be a necessity for you to provide your MAC code.

If you are on cable then there is no need to request a MAC key code, just go right ahead and order your new broadband service!
