The broadband provider is conducting beta test trials on their 40Mbps commercial fibre broadband service.
Plusnet has announced that the first phase of its broadband roll out scheme has now been completed. The first stage included installing fibre-to-the-cabinet (FTTC) broadband service in 600 volunteered households. The current tests are being conducted to test its delivery.
The Plusnet Fibre Beta Trial will be available on the Internet service provider’s Value, Extra and Pro broadband deals including its Business ADSL products. Subscribers who want to opt for the 40Mbps boost will have to pay an additional sum of £12 along with the current monthly subscription cost.
Plusnet further elaborated that all subscribers who already have for FTTC or have already signed up for it can stay on their current product at the existing price for any number of period. Those subscribers who wish to switch to one of their other services will be able to do so only till April after which all services will change to Plusnet Fibre product.
The ISP claimed that the broadband roll out has been rather successful and requires minor internal changes to support the report.
Households seeking a standard Plusnet broadband and home phone package can receive three months free providing they subscribe by Thursday February 3rd.
