O2 Business Broadband Packages

O2 is a well-established independent company which is know in the UK as one of the most popular mobile network brands. It was originally a part of the BT Wireless enterprise but since its demerger has grown on its own to create a respected and valued autonomy that carries the same degrees of success as its parent company.

O2 also enjoy much success in European markets under the wings of the joint-French Telefónica O2 Europe group. This group currently provides services to over 40 million customers, and a further 18 million in the United Kingdom alone. They are a multiple award-winning company for many different aspects of their goods and services; Which? recognised O2 as the Best Technology Services Provider 2010 and USwitch.com acknowledged the company for their great value and best speed in broadband, as well as All Providers Customer Service 2011 from Broadband Choices.

In recent years O2 has been expanding its business models to include mobile broadband and home broadband & home phone services. Further to this, the company is offering exclusive business broadband deals compatible with servicing 2 - 10 separate computers.

O2 Business Broadband can be tailored to meet the needs of all workers, from home businesses to more complex servicing. The broadband provision is built upon O2’s highly awarded network with the same mentality to deliver a good, constant, reliable service with UK-wide support and high class business quality support.

This tailored service from O2 can meet the individual requirements of a homeworker, including a connection speed of up to 20Mbps.

A branch office service can be accessed with the same download speed being reached, and this must be located within 1km of an exchange to perform well.

National access can be received by those offices which are not yet in the O2 high speed service area. They will meet speeds of 8Mbps.

The Office 10 package is available to customers for only £22.50 each month if you are already an existing O2 customer, or alternatively £27.50 if you are not. Within this package customers can expect to receive download speeds of up to 20Mbps and 300GB of usage allowance each month. A static IP address is included for no extra charge whatsoever, as are 10 separate McAfee security software licences to protect you and your employees from viruses, spam and any other harmful online content. An emergency dongle is similarly included which will allow a speedier fix of any problems for an added £10 a month, and offers access to the internet despite any downtime that may be experienced for whatever reason. Technical support is readily available from trained technicians 24/7 and every day of the year.

Business Broadband Support

O2 realises that an excellent broadband connection can be imperative to the continued success of your company, and it directly affects the successful reputation of O2 themselves. As such, they take great care to ensure that you receive the best support that there possibly can be from trained technicians and business know-it-alls.

What is the Business Broadband assistant?

If you landline was activated and you used the O2 Business Broadband installation CD then you will have also set-up the Business Broadband assistant. This is a special software developed to identify and correct problems wherever possible. It should be your first port of call to solve a problem quickly.

If a problem is found that cannot be resolved by the software it can generate an “assistance code” that you can pass onto the O2 support team to speed up the correction process.

This allows O2 to gain control of your computer, with your permission and while you are on the phone, to determine what is failing in your computer and how to fix it there and then.

How can I improve my wireless signal?

Firstly, you can use the online “speed checker” on the O2 website to determine an approximate download speed that you will achieve, depending on your proximity to the local telephone exchange and the area that you are living in.

If you are experiencing broadband connection failures, first turn your wireless router off and on again. There are signal lights on the box; check that these are all on and that they are all green. If they are red or flashing there may be a problem. Make sure that all of the cables are attached correctly first. Ensure that your wireless router is plugged into the main BT socket, the one closest to your phone line, as this gives the strongest signal.
I am new to Business Broadband and there is no wireless signal – why is this?

Please be aware that if your wireless router is showing a red light or no lights at all, then it is most likely having trouble finding a broadband signal. If you are a new customer then the signal failure may be due to the fact that the landline has not yet been activated – this can take up to 2 weeks.

In case you cannot solve the problems you are experiencing, or the Business Broadband assistant is unable to resolve the dilemma, then you can talk directly to a trained O2 technician. Log onto the website to chat to someone or read further helpful instructions in the troubleshooting pages, or call O2 on 0800 977 7337 free from a landline, or drop the first '0' to call free from an O2 mobile.
