What is a MAC code?
MAC stands for Migration Authority Code. It is a 17-19 digit character that allows you to switch from one service provider to another. It also ensures that you will maintain a connection to the Internet while the switchover process is ongoing.

How do I switch my Internet Service Provider?
If you are still with another provider then you can begin to switchover to Orange without a MAC code.
Once you have placed your order with Orange they can freeze it until you receive your MAC code. This should not take longer than 5 days as they are obliged by law to give it to you.
Depending upon your existing subscription you may be able to make a one-off payment to settle your outstanding usage and cancel the contract.
When you have your MAC code, simply enter it into the Orange website, or call them, and your new service will begin within 10 days of notification. There will be no loss to your Internet connection in this time.

How long does it take to switch?
Switching to Orange only takes 10 days for the connection and subsequent services to operate.

Do I have to change my connection set-up?
You will not need to do this as you will receive a new modem from Orange.
If you really want to keep your existing modem then you can do so but will most likely have to alter the user name and password. Your set-up guide will explain how to do this in detail.
