If you need to make larger downloads than expected at some times then you can use the unlimited usage allowance between midnight – 8am without incurring any charges or exceeding your download limit. You could even save money on your phone bill by using the Plusnet broadband phone with 240 minutes to UK landlines. This is available for only £10 a month.

Option 2 is on offer for only £15 a month. Again, customers can enjoy a great download speed of 20Mbps partnered with the enhanced usage allowance amount of 50GB. Similarly included is an upload speed of 1Mbps and free overnight usage should you find that you need to make a larger download between midnight – 8am. Customers will receive their wireless router for free and 360 minutes to be used with the Plusnet broadband phone which operates using VoIP and can save money on your phone bills.

Option 3 sports the superior benefit of entirely unlimited usage allowance with 20Mbps download speeds available for only £25 every month. The wireless router for this package is free, and accompanied by 480 minutes of VoIP phone broadband service.

Switch to Plusnet

Switching your Internet Service Provider can be a profitable affair if it is done right. For instance, you can use the online post code checker located on the Plusnet website to determine how much money you could be saving were you to be enjoying their broadband service as opposed to a competitor. Customers must first contact their existing ISP to ask for their unique MAC code; this is a special key that allows Plusnet to perform the switchover of your service without losing a broadband connection in the overlap. You must use this code within 30 days of receiving it. Plusnet have provided a convenient list of all of the UK’s main ISPs with the telephone number needed to instigate the switchover process.

Switching your broadband provider does not cost you anything. In most contracts you will be subject to pay outstanding charges to leave if you are still tied into a contract. Customers can use their previous modem if they so choose, however Plusnet traditionally supply a new wireless router free of charge. In this case, Plusnet may not be able to offer adequate technical support should anything go wrong with your old modem.

If you are joining Plusnet from a different Internet Service Provider then it would be most prudent to ensure that all contracts have been severed before switching so as to ensure a speedy change over. If you are moving from a previous ISP then you may choose the date for your new broadband service to change from between 7-30 days after you signup online. Business Broadband FAQs

I already have broadband but want to switch – how?
Firstly it is advised that you cancel your current broadband service before beginning the switchover process to Plusnet. Secondly, you must retrieve your unique MAC code from your existing Internet Service Provider, which will ensure that you do not lose your internet connection throughout the changes. Thirdly, you can tell Plusnet which package you want and they will manage the subsequent switchover for you.

Do I live in a low cost area?
Depending upon the competition in the area in which you live, you may be eligible to low cost prices. Increased competition means that you can receive cheaper prices. You can find out if you are living in a low cost area by logging onto the Plusnet website and reading their “Guide To Low Cost Areas”.

How long does the switchover take?
The switchover duration will depend upon whether you are free from any previous contracts with competing ISPs. You should ensure that you have paid any outstanding contract charges before beginning the switchover process so that it can be completed as quickly as possible. Customers can usually choose when their new service should start; anywhere between 7 – 30 days, and if you are a new customer it could be as soon as 5 days!

Do I need a MAC code?
Yes, all customers need a MAC code to benefit from Plusnet’s superior broadband provision. You must ask your existing ISP for this code to perform a switchover, and it must be used within 30 days.

How fast will my broadband be?
Your broadband speed will be the fastest possible for the area that you are living in and also depends upon the speed that your telephone line can support. This is usually up to 20Mbps.
