Privacy and cookies

Short version: we don't ask for your name or email, we don't set tracking cookies, we count visits without identifying you, and your postcode lookups stay in your browser.

Who we are

BroadbandMart is run by Lanayr Ltd, 74 Union Street, Hamilton, ML3 6NE (company number SC689824). Lanayr Ltd is the data controller for this website. Contact us at info@broadbandmart.co.uk.

Postcode checks

When you check a postcode, your browser downloads the published coverage figures for that postcode district from our website and looks up your postcode itself. We don't store the postcodes you check or link them to you.

Server logs

Our hosting provider, Vercel, keeps short-lived technical logs of requests to the site (such as IP address, the page requested and the time) to keep the service running and secure. We use these only for that purpose. This is our legitimate interest under UK GDPR.

Cookies

We don't set any cookies for advertising, analytics or tracking.

Visitor statistics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits, so we know which pages are useful. It doesn't use cookies. Vercel counts visitors using a hash of the request, which it discards after 24 hours. We see totals such as page views, the page you came from, your country, region and town, and your browser and device type. We can't identify you from them. We remove everything after the “?” in web addresses before they're sent, so the postcodes you check aren't included. Our legitimate interest is understanding which pages help people, under UK GDPR.

When you click through to a provider, that provider's website (and any affiliate network it uses) may set its own cookies. Their privacy policies apply once you leave our site.

Emails to us

If you email us, we use your message only to reply and keep it for up to two years, unless we need it longer to deal with a complaint.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of any personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email info@broadbandmart.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
