The Scottish Broadband Voucher Scheme will close to new applications on 20 November 2026, the Scottish Government's broadband site says.
The scheme gives eligible homes and businesses on speeds below 30Mbps up to £5,000 towards a superfast or gigabit-capable connection, covering installation by a registered supplier. It's aimed at premises that aren't covered by the R100 programme or other planned roll-outs.
Requests made before the closing date will still be processed under the current rules.
The UK Government's own Gigabit Broadband Voucher top-up of £4,500 is currently paused, so it can't be added on top of a Scottish voucher.
Who should apply
If your home or business can't get superfast broadband and isn't in line for an upgrade, check your eligibility at broadband.gov.scot before 20 November. By 25 September 2026, vouchers had connected 6,322 premises across Scotland, alongside more than 100,000 connected by the main R100 contracts.
Not eligible? Other options
If you can't get a decent 10Mbps connection, you may have a legal right to one under the broadband Universal Service Obligation, and satellite and 4G/5G home broadband are worth comparing. Read your options if you can't get decent broadband, or check what your postcode can get.
